Another Birthday Shoutout!

Yesterday I had special birthday shout out to my fave Hollywood boy. It wouldn't be fair to let this day pass without a shout out to my favourite Hollywood man.

He oozes charisma. Sex appeal. Bad-boy niceness. A Scottish drawl. In summary, I want to do many things to this man.

Happy Birthday Gerry :)

It most certainly doesn't help that I picture Mr. Butler as the hot cop in the Stephanie Plum series I'm reading. (Book reviews for one & two in the series) Right from the start I got confused by that other bounty hunter movie he was in (with Jennifer Aniston) and since then, he's all I see. Anyway, I don't mind; he is single and all.

As if November wasn't already the best birthday month, I get to share it with Ryan & Gerard. #luckygirl

Special Birthday!

I couldn't let this day pass without marking it with at least a shout out.

On this day 32 years ago, the world became a better place. Within two decades, we'd all be taken by storm and nothing would ever be the same again.

This person is of course none other than...

{via}

Who did you think I was talking about?

He has done great great things for cinema, both in Hollywood & in Canada. Not to mention what he's done to lusting young women like myself.

On behalf of all Gosling fans (I'm sure I can take the liberty of saying), we wish you a splendid birthday and many many many more years of blessing us with your existence.

Oh and Ryan - did Eva post a shout out to you on her blog? No? Yeah, didn't think so. I'll be waiting.

Candle Countdown

My big annual day is coming up - that's right, my birthday is just one month away!

I know most of you want to get started on my gifts so here's my list. I actually had a hard time coming up with a list this year because I really truly do not 'need' anything. It's a good thing that this doubles as a Christmas list (because let's face it, that's just over two months away!) so I only have to go through this process once. LOL

- Xena: Complete DVD Collection
- Sewing machine
- Fun Stationary things (pens, stamps, etc)
- Jewellery dish
- Pandora charm(s)
- Super nice candles
- Super nice bath bubbles & salts
- Cute dangly earrings
- Starbucks gift card
- Michael's gift card
- H&M gift card

I'm normally not big on gift cards but I've gotten picky and I understand I can be hard to shop for sometimes. I'm not that picky with presents either way, I just like getting surprises :)

Happy Shopping!

The Dirty 30 Marathon

A couple of weeks ago, someone special turned 30! I agreed to take a small break from my Princess status so that dC could have the spotlight to celebrate this milestone. I felt that it was only fitting to celebrate for 3 straight days!

Celebration #1: Prezzies & Cupcakes (courtesy of my pastry chef prodigy sister!)

Celebration #2: Birthday Dinner (delicious gourmet burgers!)
Celebration #3: Party Time!!!

And then I got my Princess status back... ;)

And a birthday present teaser...

Happy #HumpDay to everyone else!

My Birthday was a Happy one :)

There was way too much excitement on my Birthday for me to actually be able to sit down and write about it.

It all started with a 6:20am wake-up call from dC to let me know he's on his way! "Make sure you don't fall back asleep so you hear your phone to buzz me in!" [This may or may not have happened in the past...]

When he finally arrived, it was like Santa came early - flowers, gift, latte & my fave cinnamon-raisin breakfast toast!
Still keeping with the pink & purple theme :)

I got the purse I wanted! It was on my wishlist
At this time I should also mention that my mama got me the watch I ranted about on my wishlist:

When I got to work, my work-friend had left this for me:
A potted plant (yay, finally!), a cute new winter Starbucks mug & a  Starbucks keychain gift card :)
I had a lot of, "Aww sucks that you have to work on your birthday!" comments, but seriously - I do not mind. I could sit at home doing nothing and waiting for others to get off work to celebrate or I could get birthday attention - not a difficult choice. Plus, our team does birthday cake & card so that treatment doesn't hurt one bit. Honestly though, it was probably one of the least productive days at work ever. LOL

Post-work brought a dinner downtown at Joey with dC and a walk around Dundas Square - Toronto's attempted version at Times Square.

Dundas Square

Happy 25th to Me :)

Party Time!!!

Time to take this Birthday Girl home!
As you can see, I was a very happy birthday for my 25th birthday week! Thanks to everyone who made it special but most of all to dC for treating me like a real Princess and making me feel like the centre of the universe!

Birthday Countdown: T-1

T-1 means my Birthday is TOMORROW! But first...pre-Birthday gift #3!

#princess*
And this is what it was:
An engraved letter opener!
I have been ranting about a letter opener because a lot of my mail ends up in two parts after I open it, but this is totally not something I was expecting! Can't wait to use it to open all of my Birthday-money-filled cards :)

Check out #1 from Monday and #2 from yesterday!

*NOTE: Don't worry, dC was well-aware of what he was getting himself into early on! :)

Birthday Countdown: T-2

This morning I got to open my second pre-Birthday gift!

#meow

One of cutest picture from our trip to #NYC! <3
This is most definitely the perfect addition to my new living room bookshelf <3

Check out #1 yesterday and come back for #3 tomorrow - I'm completely stumped as to what it is!

Birthday Countdown: T-3

After a weekend of celebrations for a friend's birthday & a bachelorette party, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that dC had planned a birthday countdown of gifts starting today. That means 4 days worth of gifts! These are my 3 pre-actual birthday gifts :)
Gifts for Sunday, Monday & Tuesday

Here's Day 1!
Gift 1: #sassy

Gift 1: Some of my fave chocolates!
I can't get over how pretty they are! But more so, I can't get over how well planned out they are! Each of the boxes has it's own picture and a poem inside - so sweet!

Needless to say, I am extremely excited about my birthday this year & can't wait for my week-long celebrations (and gifts)!! Definitely feeling the love :)

Starting the Wish List!

It's November and that means it's my Birthday month! Which essentially means that all activities are planned to maximize the celebration of my Birthday :) Recognizing that it's also fairly close to Christmas, I just give my fam a list of wants and they can pick whatever. My two big things (for now) are:

You may recall that I used to want this one.

Stay tuned for what other gifts y'all can get me ;)

Happy Birthday Freddie Mercury!

This icon holds a very special place in my heart because he was integral to the development of my love for classic rock. This man died far too early in life but made a mark like no other.
Thank you Google for recognizing Freddie <3

Upon clicking, this turns into an animated video of "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen :)

Happy 1st Bloggy Birthday!

D'you know what is so surreal? Letting it sink in that I've been blogging for a whole year! It's the best decision I've ever made because it has turned out to be an amazing experience! I've had a great time writing and reading, and getting to know a lot of new people! :)
I won't bore you with more crap - check out my very first post & some top reads from the last year!

Can I come out of the dog house?

I'm not going to go all fancy shmancy in this post because first and foremost, I want to apologize. For failing as a blogger, even though i love love love my readers! But why would anyone come here when there's nothing new? Hell - I haven't even been to my own page since the last post!

The last two weeks have been crazy with my birthday festivities and the start of Christmas things, but that's not really an excuse.

Here I'm thinking I have this epic multi-tasking, stay-on-top-of-everything skills but I have been proven wrong. When I get home from work, all I want to do is sprawl out on the couch. Until I remember that I'm starving and need to cook for myself. Doesn't help that it's pitch black so early!

Also doesn't help that I spend my day in front of computer and have had my fill by 5:30pm. But i've still been reading all your blogs! Just not commenting. Still, my Google Reader always has a ridiculously large unread #...I love too many of you? Oh well :)

This is all going to change! Blogging is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time - not that I've shown it as of late. I don't have an exact plan yet - except maybe blogging at lunch at Starbucks - but worry not - I will come up with one. Something more specific than just "I will try harder to not be so tired after work" since that has obviously failed.

So essentially - please forgive me & keep loving me. I'll do my best! *cue Dane Cook's 'i did my best' skit here* Actual post coming up soontime...

Suggestions to my work/blog balance are welcome! How are you dealing with this?

XO,

Great Start to my Birthday Week!

My Birthday is a big deal to me, always has been. I've always declared a Birthday week, which never seizes to make my dad roll his eyes. He apparently thought that i was going to grow out of it.

Well that's what makes me said...I think i might. I haven't counted down this year or made a gift wish list or felt hugely excited. Not to mention i made my birthday event barely a week beforehand. Sad. Brings a tear to my eye. But i blame the big move for the distraction!

I've been getting more excited this weekend. Spent most of it with my awesome friend JD [she's off blog record]. On Saturday we went to IKEA - a highly dangerous place for us. She bought this picture:
We spent a good 30 minutes maneuvering this into my car. Phew. Then I spent the evening catching up on my missed Grey's episodes. Lame, i know. But i was oh so tired! But more importantly - WTF is going on with Cristina?!?! I don't even want to go there actually...

Today we hit the Santa Clause Parade which was pretty fun! It wasn't as freezing as I had expected & once I managed to slowly make my way to the edge of the sidewalk, I had some prime picture-taking real estate! :)

Here are a few shots:
33 days till Christmas, in case you're wondering.

Santa is coming!

Don't worry Santa, my list is already in the mail.

The Swarovski Christmas Tree @ the Mall
I may or may not have also shopped a bit. But only good deals i promise! Plus, I haven't shopped for myself in over a month! Ever since I started shopping solely for this apartment. It's my Birthday week. I deserve gifts from my myself - just some cute tops, a dress & some accessories :)

But as for Christmas, that doesn't start till December 1st in this household! I've been buying some decorations and I'm so excited for my Christmas kick-off night!

For now...HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK TO ME!
Hope you all had a great weekend!

PS: I'm working on this work/blog balance thing, I promise!!! xo

Are you baking a cake, Yoko?

Dear John Lennon,

Happy 70th Birthday to you!

I can only imagine how glorious you would be today - if only it wasn't for that one small incident nearly 30 years ago.

Thank you for making the musical world a better place.

Love,
me (& Google)
