In the RED but loving it!

The other day I instagram-ed this:

Remember how I was excited about Target finally opening in Canada?

Well I'm still excited. But also worried about my next credit card statement.

I'll worry about that later though; here's some of what was in the bags...

Clockwise from top left:
New nailpolish for summer - bright blue & pink and new Volumizing mascara
New blowdryer! Hopefully this helps my hair...
High-Low skirt - pumped for summer!
Nude flats with gold studs
Black sandals with gold embellishments

I told you I've been loving gold!

I'm super pumped for all of these, partly because so many are for spring/summer things. If only winter would leave - we have a 'winter storm' warning for tomorrow. Ugh.

So...any other Target Canada addicts shoppers out there?!

Gold digger

The other day, I instagram-ed this:

I've always worn silver. I don't know why because my mom wears yellow gold exclusively. I think I just didn't like the 'yellow-ness' of it. Plus, I feel like silver is more neutral and easier to wear with most things.

Lately though I've felt like wearing gold more often. I have a few pairs of earrings I enjoy and some necklaces, which I never end up wearing. Why? Because my main accessories are my watch and Pandora bracelet - both silver.

Well, what's inside the bag changes all of that:

The Pandora bracelet is champagne-coloured leather, and despite having a silver clasp (the only option) looks far better with the light tan-coloured strap of the watch. I also chose a more rose gold coloured watch face over the yellow gold because it's a bit more subtle.

Now I'll be able to wear my gold pieces, tell time and show off my charms all at the same time.

Close ups:

I would probably wear a couple of my favourite charms on the bracelet but they are silver. You know what that means - I'm allowed to pick out some new ones ;)

I'm also known for my extreme buyer's remorse though so please someone make me feel good about my choice here!

More on my out-of-control weekend spending tomorrow!

Hello, Target!

I have been in love with Target for over 6 years and one of the roughest things about moving away from the border was no more weekly Target trips. It's the truth. Yeah you're right - #firstworldproblems.

Shortly after I moved Target announced their move to Canada. Two excruciating years later, it's finally here!
{via}
Naturally I went shopping this past weekend and amongst other things, picked up these fantastic pieces.
[The links below will take you to the US website]

Mossimo® Women's Long Sleeve Tunic Blouse

Bad lighting - this is actually a dark coral red

Merona® Women's Colorblocked Twist Waist Dress - Mangrove Green

 Not available on website

This last dress I'm particularly excited about because I bought it with our summer vacation in mind. So. Excited.

Archer Farms snacks and some Up&Up toiletries were also big highlights. This is the beginning of a very beautiful relationship. With weekly dates. Maybe more ;)

New me, New things

On Saturday, I finally got my hair done after many months of contemplating.

I'm allergic to hair dye so I really wanted to try the 'ombre' style, and I finally went for it!

I really really like how it ended up turning out.

Naturally, I had to treat myself to a shopping trip afterwards.

I've been on the hunt for nice black boots (riding-style boots I suppose) for over a year now and I finally found a pair that I like on SALE! Like, 50% off on sale.

The fact that they had these left in my size was pretty much a sign that I should buy them
I'm also telling myself that I will commit to starting and enjoying going to the gym when I start this new job (there's a gym across the street) so I picked up these Nikes to help with the motivation.

I don't know why the lighting is so weird in this picture - they have purple detailing.
I swear I'm actually going to give this gym thing a go! Really!

Now here's to surviving 4 more days of this job...

Thanksgiving long weekend

Last weekend was a long one in Canada thanks to Canadian Thanksgiving [no pun intended] heehee

I'd like to say it was relaxing but mostly it was busy, busy though definitely fulfilling :)

I spent Friday night making the pie shells for my pumpkin & apple pies - 2 of each for 2 Thanksgiving dinners. Then I made myself a poutine as a reward. Fries, cheese, bacon & gravy - I can't possibly think of anything more delicious than that.

Saturday morning I spent making my pie fillings for easy pie-baking on Sunday and Monday. Talk about efficient over here!

Lunch on Saturday was served by Five Guys - I think we all know how amazing that is...
That was followed up with shopping where picked up these puppies for a total of $70! If you live in Canada, and especially Toronto, you know that's a steal!

That night we saw Looper - so amazing, I definitely recommend you all see it! Seriously, it's probably the best movie I have seen all year and here is a preview to convince you.

Sunday was the first Thanksgiving dinner resulting in this pie aftermath:

Monday I baked my last two pies which looked like this pre-baking:

And then the apple pie dish cracked so you won't be getting the sorry-ass post-baking picture because it does it no justice lol Still delicious though and enjoyed by everyone at the second Thanksgiving!

But I definitely needed another day to recuperate from all the baking, running around and eating...Oh well, maybe next weekend!

Whether Canadian or American, what is your favourite part of Thanksgiving?

Weekend Love

The weekend was as awesome as expected, and then some. That's always the case when this lovely lady comes to visit!

Our time was filled with dinner & drinks, and then some more dinner & drinks, and of course a lot of laughs & all around good times. Couldn't ask for more.

Needless to say, we made some time for shopping because you can't have girl time without shopping! I managed to control myself and only picked up these key needs:

Cute & on sale!
[ALDO]
Perfect summer tank that will match both my navy & coral skinnies! So pumped!
[H&M]
Scarves! Instead of buying new clothes, I want to accessorize more & these were so cute!
[H&M, Joe Fresh, H&M]
Despite my awesome steals, what made the weekend perfect was spending it with my 2 most favourite people in the world...

Love you both! :)

Here I told you I bought indigo blue jeans, inspired by Tara. Today you get the outfit picture.

Happy Weekend!

Shopping, Sushi, Duckface

My mom and sister finally came to visit me this past weekend and we had a jolly ol' good time! Honestly, this visit has been 'in the works' practically since I moved a year ago but schedules just never jived. My sister's busy social life is difficult to work around.

Obviously we started off by hitting the mall, where I picked up two incredible finds at none other than my favourite, H&M!
$29.95CAD at H&M
I've been dying for blue skinny jeans since Tara ranted about them here & I kept seeing them in all the stores. I already own purple ones, so I wanted more colours! The navy skinny pants I came by accidentally but totally love them for work with a beige or brown top & my giraffe heels. All I'm going to say is be on the lookout for some uncharacteristic for me outfit posts!

Shopping was followed up with sushi *om nom nom*
Mom finally getting the hang of chopsticks (instead of poking the maki)! But it was short-lived...

And that deliciousness was followed up by a makeup session!
Yes, my sister owns all that makeup and more!
She also feels the need to own various brands of exactly the same pink lipstick!
Naturally, I modeled most of them. With my duck face.
I also made out with 3 bare minerals eyeshadows [thanks Nik!]
Really pumped to try them all, especially the neutral shades!
But my favourite part was discovering the lipstick [non]colour I've always dreamed of! Naturally, it comes from M.A.C. so I'm going to have to dish out like $20 but it'll be well worth it!
M.A.C. Fleshpot <3

They left today and I did some shopping for an important upcoming event that I shall not mention yet... Overall a truly lovely weekend! Now if only I could skip the week...*le sigh*

It's that time of year

[via]
The 2012 IKEA Catalogue has arrived, at my doorstep no less! I can't wait to curl up on the couch & page tag the crap out of it. Then in September there'll be a shopping trip for which I'm so pumped already! Maybe I'll see if my mom wants to come down for a weekend and go together - yay!

I've been an IKEA-lover ever since I can remember. Up until recently, my parents exclusively bought their furniture there - the last living room set my mom decided to get snazzy and get it semi custom-made. But with re-doing my bedroom 2 years ago & moving out last year, IKEA has been my go-to for everything big or small. This year I don't really need much but I'm hoping there will be some really fun home accessories that I can snaz-up the apartment with :)

Then again...I still have to put up the IKEA wall picture that I bought back in March...

Is anyone else as excited as me about the 2012 IKEA Catalogue!?

I want me a Baby G!

Last night, the boyfriend & I went for drinks with my [non blood-related] cousin & her bf - great time! - but I felt really left out when they were all comparing & showing off their G-Shock & Baby G watches - they all have obsessions! Needless to say, I definitely looked some up today and oh my gah...i found the perfect one!

It's only $99! Which is a lot but I had anticipated more so my perception now is that it's a bargain LOL  This won't be an immediate purchase though...might be too early to be (watch) matchy matchy haha

Anyone else have a G-Shock/Baby G obsession??
