Happy 1st Birthday, Koko!

I cannot believe my babykat is one years old today!

I say he wasn't changed much but then I see pictures of when we first got him at two months old and...yes, he has definitely changed!

I wanted to give you a slideshow but apparently Picasa is all changed to Google+ now. 

I promise the album will not disappoint though!

Koko is definitely the best decision I ever made :)

Cat Nap

I can't believe how little I post about Koko, compared to how much I thought I would when I first got him. It's definitely not because there's nothing to say, trust me, but it's hard to capture it tangibly! He's so fast & crazy when he's running around - he's still a kitten! - that it's hard to get him on camera. By the time I try to, it's over. Plus, I enjoy just playing & cuddling without worrying about taking a nice shot. I'll try harder though! 

That being said, I do get some great shots when he's all tuckered out and/or napping. Like this one - where he progressively stretched out more and more across my bed & finally fell asleep.

Gosh I just love this little fluffy guy so much!

Cats + Cameras

There was a lot of Koko excitement this past weekend.

By which I mean - I was excited and Koko was like "WTF mummy?" because I made him go through a photoshoot to show off his newest accessory.

He's looking up in a lot of them because he has to be coerced to walk around by a dangling toy...

Plus, we started practicing for catbearding...

Catnipped

So we gave Koko catnip for the first time last night in a little mouse toy pouch. Below is what ensued - for like 30 minutes.

Catnip affects all cats differently (and some not at all). In Koko's case, he was super energized and I think he had a lot of fun. We also had quite a bit of fun watching :)

Koko Explores

I can share [dC's] Vine videos! That and the fact that these videos of Koko are awesome is the main driving force behind this post.

This is my absolute fave. With the nice weather, Koko was let out on the balcony on a leash to explore...

His love for water is nothing new, but he usually just stares at it...

Still, can't wait for Vine on Android!!! *hint hint Vine devs!*

Still a Boy

With a minor tweak.

On Friday morning I dropped baby Koko off at the vet for his neutering. I was so upset to leave him all alone but it had to be done.

Even though he's barely 6 months old, he was already developing some less-than-stellar marking habits that needed to be cut short.

Now the poor muffin has to wear this for nearly two weeks:

He seems to be taking it pretty well though despite the discomfort while eating and sleeping.

Don't worry though, he's getting spoiled with plenty of treats and cuddles to make up for all the discomfort.

Koko Love

As promised, here are some of Koko's shenanigans & cuteness!

I hide in mummy's sheets in the morning

And then we have cuddle time

For breakfast we share cereal..yummz

And then I watch mummy shower

*Partially true - Koko usually hangs out between the two shower curtains while I shower, unless he gets really bored

 And then I plank on the coffee table 'cause I'm cute!

Re-introducing...Koko

No, you didn't misread the title. It says Koko, not Coco.Why the name change? Because of the sex change.

By which I mean, I'm the worst fur mommy ever because for two months I thought my cat was a girl and he's a boy...and I just don't understand why he didn't speak up!

But seriously, I felt awful when I made the discovery. If I was a good fur mommy, I would have already taken him to the vet but A) life's been busy, B) he lives strictly indoors and C) I'm a little bit old school when it comes to things like that. I'm also not a vet and he was like 8 weeks old so hard to tell when we first got him.

This is also the reason why you haven't seen the "I love Coco" post; I needed time to absorb this and finish being upset before I could talk about it.

I decided not to change the name entirely because I like it and I didn't want to confuse him, but the 'C' needed to go since it was so feminine. So now I have a fluffy baby boy kitty named Koko!
