They've Still Got It Going On!

A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I hit up a Backstreet Boys concert!

I have yet to find the proper combination of words to describe how incredible it was. I wasn't even excited until we got into the arena and saw all of the other people girls.

To be honest, I hadn't listened to the Backstreet Boys in a really long time but they were my choice boy band in my tween years. Once all of those memories started flooding back though, there was no stopping them. All I know is that I am beyond glad I waited nearly 20 years (HOLY SHIT!) to see a #BSB concert because I was able to fully, truly appreciate it!

As soon as we got our t-shirts, it was game on!

It was hard to pick the best pics b/c I spent most of my time enjoying the show or taking vids - post to come! - but these are the highlights!

Gettin' the party started!

Can you guess which song?!

They had us use our cellphone flashes as lighters & it was actually super cool!

Before you ask, no - I have no idea how those girls got to be up on stage.

Lovin' their fans! But not me... :(

They seriously have still got it, oh man....

Totally fake ending...ENCORE ENCORE ENCORE!

I'll be posting the videos from the concert so make sure to come back!

Another Birthday Shoutout!

Yesterday I had special birthday shout out to my fave Hollywood boy. It wouldn't be fair to let this day pass without a shout out to my favourite Hollywood man.

He oozes charisma. Sex appeal. Bad-boy niceness. A Scottish drawl. In summary, I want to do many things to this man.

Happy Birthday Gerry :)

It most certainly doesn't help that I picture Mr. Butler as the hot cop in the Stephanie Plum series I'm reading. (Book reviews for one & two in the series) Right from the start I got confused by that other bounty hunter movie he was in (with Jennifer Aniston) and since then, he's all I see. Anyway, I don't mind; he is single and all.

As if November wasn't already the best birthday month, I get to share it with Ryan & Gerard. #luckygirl

Special Birthday!

I couldn't let this day pass without marking it with at least a shout out.

On this day 32 years ago, the world became a better place. Within two decades, we'd all be taken by storm and nothing would ever be the same again.

This person is of course none other than...

{via}

Who did you think I was talking about?

He has done great great things for cinema, both in Hollywood & in Canada. Not to mention what he's done to lusting young women like myself.

On behalf of all Gosling fans (I'm sure I can take the liberty of saying), we wish you a splendid birthday and many many many more years of blessing us with your existence.

Oh and Ryan - did Eva post a shout out to you on her blog? No? Yeah, didn't think so. I'll be waiting.

Eff, Marry, Kill - 10.23

Double post - it's your lucky day!
You can check the other one out here.

Heather & Michelle's link up is back!
photobucket

In that exact order, here are my picks...

Oh Gerard, it was so difficult to decide what to do with you...do I want to marry you & have you to myself forever, or just be victim to the bliss that you could inflict? I had to choose the bliss - take me to Sparta!

JGL, my new celeb crush. Talented and funny with a new-found hunk factor. I think this fellow would make an excellent hubby!

I know so many of you love John Mayer and that makes me screw up my face in utter disbelief and throw up at the same time. Who does this douchebag think he is? Swooping in on fragile Hollywood ladies (Jen Aniston,  little Taylor Swift & most-recently Katy Perry...the list goes on), prey on them with his smooth words and then break their hearts? He's no better than Joe Shmoe down the street - do not fuel his ego with your fandom!

Can't wait to see everyone else's picks!!!

Don't forget to check out my birthday post from today as well :)

Eff, Marry, Kill!

Eff
Zac Efron

Umm yes please. When this guy first came into the spotlight, I really gave him no credit. Pretty boy in stupid musical, dating a twat like Vanessa Hudgens. But once 17 Again came out - amazing. Like where did this guy come from? Legit. Ok, let's go Zac.

Marry
Ryan Gosling

Anyone who knows me could see this coming a mile away. He had me at 'Hello'...or whatever his first line in The Notebook was. He's gorgeous, increda-talented & is a good samaritan! So Ryan, let me know where you wanna have the engagement party...

Kill
I know Heather will hate me for this...
Channing Tatum

Honestly, so overrated. I can't say he isn't hot - I can see his appeal but I so not attracted to him. The only talent he has is dancing (though I haven't seen Magic Mike, so maybe stripping too) but guess what, you're supposed to also be able to act. This isn't So You Think You Can Dance. Seriously, people.

Can't wait to read everyone else's!!!

Humpity Hump Day

It's definitely Wednesday. My day started with Googling the following:
"how much should you save up before quitting your job"

Which resulted in going through this post:

It was 100% what I was looking for. However, definitely not what I wanted to hear.

I don't have a plan. Not at all. I would love to be an entrepreneur but I've always known I'm not quite right for that - not a riks-taker & quite frankly I have zero ideas.

The only answer I have is to 'travel Europe'. But that's my answer every time I want to runaway from my problems life.

My perfect job involves what I love most & do best - social media & business. Not sure where to find it though, or whether it will pay the bills.

How do I start looking without even knowing what I'm looking for? Can't someone do it for me? That would be perfect.

On the bright side, if none of that works out I guess I can always rely on being a 'stunt' double for this guy:

Happy #HumpDay!

For the ladies...

I know none of us can resist a hottie celeb being an everyday hero...

Confirmed: [seemingly] impossible goals can be achieved

So I didn't really give enough credit to how awesome my Saturday night was in my own mind. In hindsight, it was kind of really fantastic. Largely because I can't remember the last time I had so much fun. And honestly, I always have way more fun with strangers that I meet just before going out. Is that sad? Whatever, it's true.

It was also partly fantastic because I achieved one of my life goals - the one that was least likely no less. HA! But more on that later.

Saturday was my good friend Dan's birthday partay. He's the only other friend I talk to from high school, and apparently the pattern there is I only keep in touch with my gay friends. But the pattern really is that I only keep in touch with my FUN friends. The level of lame that 99% of my high school friends have achieved will absolutely blow your mind. And not in a good way. So I don't want your mind to be blown.

Originally I wasn't going to go because I wasn't sure if I wanted to show up alone but then I was like, "D, you're crazy - it is never not a good time with Dan & you're increda-social...who cares if you're showing up alone!? Lest you forget how much fun you had the last time you went to a gay bar with Dan..."

Sidestory
One night last summer, I was out in Toronto with girlfriends (before I moved here) and managed to predrink a little too heavily which resulted in getting kicked out of the bar about 6 minutes after getting in. I'm not the type of person to pull others out of the bar to take care of me & ruin their fun - Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You (thanks Matthew 7:12...& Google) - so I told the girls not to worry about me, I had a plan & we'd meet up afterwards.

My brilliant plan consisted of asking Dan to text me the address of the bar he was at & I would Google Map my way over there via my BlackBerry. I mean, my BlackBerry is amazing but let's be serious - I was just kicked out of a bar...LOL Which is probably the best thing that could have happened because that night was awesome! The played Dance Mix '95. Need I say more? That night, the gay community stole my [dancing] heart.

Back to present day
So I hott up & go to Dan's birthday pre-drink. Pretty gay boys everywhere! They're just so much fun. Also met Dan's boyfriend - they're so so cute together :) Also met his ex-bf - he sure knows how to pick 'em! By now I'm beyond glad that I won't be dealing with any straight boy bullshit tonight & can just have fun! Sweet!

First tweet of the night: Caaaaan't even get over how social i am! I love gay boys :)

Just before leaving for the bar I was talking to a guy when it came up that this would also be his second time at a gay bar.

Me: Really? How come?
Guy: Well, I just normally go to other bars.
Me: Oh, ok then. How can a gay guy NOT prefer going to gay bars?! Craziness.

Well here's the thing...turns out he's not gay.

Me: Ooooh, omg I'm sorry I just kind of I assumed that!
Guy: No no that's ok...people often say I look very metro.
No darling. You look as gay as any of these other boys here. But leave it to me to find the one "straight" guy in a pack of like 30.

As we head to the bar, I'm totally not thrilled about how I now likely have to spend my night either A) getting rid of him [nicely], or B) expending a serious amount of effort into not giving out an "I could in some lifetime potentially be interested" vibe while also trying to have a good time.

Fortunately I didn't have to resort to either. While grabbing drinks at the bar with him, some guy chatted him up - shocking, I know - so I turned around to head back to the dance floor & who do I see...Dan's ex-bf.

Me: Hey you! Haven't seen ya around all night!
Ex: Ya eh! *stares at me with indescribable baby blues & a smile that is to die for...excuse me while I melt*

Last tweet of the night:
I may or may not be making out with my gay friend;s ex-bf...yaaa meeee I'm almost acvcomplishing me life goala [excuse my shitty drunken typing]

And by making out I mean the type of hardcore macking on eachother all over the bar that you are embarrassed about the next day when your friends fill you in. And no, I am nowhere near embarrassed. How could I be embarrassed about achieving my #1 goal in life of hooking up with a gay guy? A gay guy as beautiful as him, no less.

Oh & don't worry - Dan was fully aware & ok with it. Not that I remembered to ask for permission ahead of time. Plus, 'straight' guy's face when he turned around to follow me to the dancefloor (which I only saw from the corner of my eye because I was already busy) - priceless.

My [dancing] heart still belongs to the gay community.

Excuse me while I drool...

Delicious. The only non-graphic adjective I can use.

Sweet Dreams Self

Just wanted to let ya'll know who i'm falling asleep to tonight - Louis Van Amstel.

And can this man ever dance! Obviously i went overboard with my 'research' and found out he was gay. Don't say "i can't believe you didn't know that!" - i didn't.
Nor did i want to :(

Apartment? Check!

Good news - my blogging will not be disrupted by homelessness since i have found a place to live!!! Yay me :)  It wasn't easy though - day 1 was very discouraging.

By Friday evening the options were looking pretty slim. One superintendent showed me a place (where someone still lived!) that was not in great condition, and all they were going to do was clean it up a bit - no painting, no floor re-doing, NADA - and she wanted to charge $1150 + $80 OUTDOOR parking!!! Yeah - i wasn't having any of that. Problem was - most of them were like that :(

Saturday morning i woke up determined & we hit the pavement, but there wasn't much to see. By Saturday afternoon i realized that the 1st place i had seen was the one.

It's the perfect location, perfect size, perfect floor-to-ceiling windows & cuteness. Like my friend said, it's just so ME!

I'm so excited!
But i still haven't had time to bask in enjoyment because i have to call and rent a moving truck, get my cable/internet installation all sorted out, figure out what i'm going to bring with me and what i will leave behind - and then PACK!

I haven't moved too often in my life but I've travelled plenty to know that packing sucks. And this packing-my-whole-life will likely be worse. Luckily for me, I have 4.5 days to settle in before starting work :)

It makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside to think of how well things have actually been going lately :)

This song also makes me feel warm & fuzzy - enjoy!
The Michael Bublé version, because he's so dreamy

Quickie

OMG i only posted 7 times in September?! That shit has got to change. I'm sorry I'm failing you darling readers, I promise to change my ways!

I have been updating the blog layout though to make this all more enjoyable for you!!

Tonight is my favourite TV night - yes even better than Thursdays! - the fam watches our favourite Bulgarian tv show! I'd share this awesomeness with you all but i don't think any of you are fluent in Bulgarian?

You can however, bask in the hottness that is this fabulous protagonist!

What's that? He looks like a young Hugh Laurie? Yes - they are very sexy men indeed <3

Grandma Police!

It's Friday night. Not that i don't love blogging, but c'mon - it's Friday night! I digress...

Have i mentioned that it has now been 49 days since i twisted/sprained/injured my ankle and it still hurts?! Not like disabled-parking-privilege hurts or even limping-hurts, but when i point my toes and stretch it, it's hurty. Needless to say, i can't wear high heels. And this is seriously impeding on my fashion. That's my way of taking this slightly more humourously. Deep down inside though, the hypochondriac in me is semi-visualizing being told that due to my carelessness, they will have to amputate.
Ugh no, ok i'm done. :(

On a happier note - the sis & i watched Killers td, while waiting for her newly-painted room to dry. And it was definitely wayyyy better than watching paint dry. Ashton Kutcher has always been a good looking guy but i can't really say i've cared or noticed all that much. Well, today i noticed. I could barely keep my eyes in their sockets, and don't get me started on the drool. I may even have missed important plot pieces b/c he was just that breathtaking. Katherine Heigl's character after their first kiss says "Umm ugh ya...I can't breathe." Ya i bet you couldn't. I wonder if Demi has any idea how lucky she is? And quite frankly, idk how the Willis daughters are able to deal. :P

And so, this grandma is heading off to bed...later than anticipated! HeeHee

PS: Any formally/informally trained/untrained medical/non-medical persons - feel free to share advice on this ankle situation!!!
