Spring-y

Or not. Hey end of April, why are your temperatures in the single digits? It's been 38 days since spring 'officially' began and it is taking its sweet ass time actually getting here. To Toronto at least.

It's a good thing I didn't post my why I am excited for Spring list back then because I'd still be waiting to do all of those things.

But guys, it's almost May. This shitty weather is going to have to end sooner, not later, so I'm going to go ahead and get pumped up!

Why I was am pumped for Spring:

*No more layers! Or at least, far fewer layers
*IWearing all my cute flats
*Starting to be nice enough for the coveted patio weather!
*Spring flowers
*Bicycle buying for summer bicycle riding
*Not freezing to death at the bus stop
*More sunny days
*Longer days aka it's not dark when I leave work

What is your favourite part of spring? Have you actually felt springtime yet?

Sad Little Blog

Hey, you! Yes you, the reader. Thanks for stopping by...not sure why you did since this little ol' place has been pretty quiet the last while.

With work, wedding planning, working out [that's fallen a little bit to the wayside as well] and just enjoying any free time I have, has made it difficult to keep up posting regularly and meaningfully.

Not only that, but it's been looking really sad around here as I want to give the blog a face lift but am not sure what to do. So right now it's looking a little black, white & plain:

I don't really want to pay for a custom template but I haven't had much luck with making something I like and working with the existing blogger stuff.

I haven't yet given up quite yet but thinking about "I need to blog more" constantly stresses me out even more and I really don't need that in my life. Slowly but surely...

In the meantime, I still enjoy reading & commenting on all of your blogs!

Humpday Confessions 4.16

So this is my first link up with Kathy's Humpday Confessions even though I've been reading them for so long! Was that my first confession? Am I doing it wrong already? Fuck.

- I discovered this on holy Sunday night:
But mostly my confession is what went through my head during this time...I'm sure you can figure it out.

- You'll hear me say "I hate.." a lot more than "I love...". This makes people think I'm a hater. Which I am; though not quite as big as people assume. It's just easier to trash talk something than to talk about why you love it (I just do!) and there's always the fear that you'll be mocked. LOVE MAKES YOU VULNERABLE, PEOPLE!

- We were going to have a healthy week of eating this week and that went to shit by the second day. For both of us. At least we fail together.

- I am ridiculously excited about Easter - making Easter bread & painting eggs (which you never stop doing if you're Orthodox) are my favesies!

- I file my nails a lot. More than anyone else I know. How do I know this? Because everyone comments on it...therefore it must be true. I used to file my nails during university lectures (and put profs in their place with my epic level of knowledge if they ever called me out) and I now file my nails at work. Yes, I can have an intelligent conversation about this project while filing my nail...because if it gets caught in my sweater ONE more time, I'm going to scream!

- I used to also paint my nails at work at my old job but that's pushing it, even for me.

Happy Hump Day!

Birthday à la Asian

I love it when birthdays are on a Friday because they really let you milk the whole birthday weekend! I know, it's not even my birthday but it's Mike's and I get pumped up enough for the both of us.

Friday morning started with cake for breakfast!

After work we headed to a beer market with live music - and got zero pictures of course. You'll just have to trust me when I tell you that we had a good time with good friends :)

Saturday was relax day - despite not being hungover at all! #winning - and watched lots of Breaking Bad. We're now on the final season - supposed to be the best one! No spoilers!

That night we went for our just-the-two-of-us birthday dinner & got dim sum in Chinatown. Honestly, I've barely been to Chinatown and never eaten there but it was great! Next time I want to go to one of those places where the bring you dim sum on carts!

We ended the night in Toronto's ultra mini Times Square - Dundas Square:
Big, bright lights

Sunday was family birthday lunch and went for Korean BBQ. Have you had it before? So much fun and so delicious! For those that are unfamiliar, you cook your own food (usually mainly meat and some veggies) on a grill in the centre of your table.

We didn't end our Asian-ing there however; instead, we headed to the popular Asian flea market mall, Pacific Mall. It was incredible. I mean, I love flea markets because they're crazy but this one was so organized! And so much stuff! Granted, there was definitely an overload of phone cases but there was also a giant selection of knock off purses. And I'm all about the knock offs. $500 for MK purse? No thanks. $60? Sure! While I didn't pick any up, it was purely out of indecision and I will certainly be going back!

Finally, we hit a popular Asian grocery store, T&T, before heading home and ran into these guys:

Overall, a crazy fun birthday weekend and it wasn't even my birthday! See, the post title wasn't just because of birthday boy's background! :P
