Koko Explores

I can share [dC's] Vine videos! That and the fact that these videos of Koko are awesome is the main driving force behind this post.

This is my absolute fave. With the nice weather, Koko was let out on the balcony on a leash to explore...

His love for water is nothing new, but he usually just stares at it...

Still, can't wait for Vine on Android!!! *hint hint Vine devs!*

Music Monday - 4.29

It's a rainy Monday. That's double hate in my books. Which means I need double pumping up to make it through the day.

Obviously that calls for hot mess Ke$ha! This video is indeed a hot mess.

For those who really just want the song, here's a non-hot mess version...

Book Club! - 4.29

It's time for Book Club with Heather!

This week I'm reviewing:

Swing off the Jersey Turnpike and you'll be in bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's neighborhood. You'll know it because all hell will be breaking loose. Not that she looks for trouble - it just seems to follow her. In Ten Big Ones it explodes at a deli, and when Stephanie pegs a robber as a member of a vicious Trenton gang, they peg her as dead. Vice cop Joe Morelli fears she's in way too deep - even with the help of crime-solving, cross-dressing, bus driver Sally Sweet, and Stephanie's friend Lula riding shotgun as backup. With a notorious killer on her tail, Stephanie figures the best hideout is Ranger's secret lair...Original.

Thoughts
I was getting a bit tired of the storylines with Steph being the one chased instead of her doing the chasing, however...did she find the Batcave?! As if I didn't already want to do awesome terrible things to Ranger, now I know what shower gel he uses ;)
Book-wise, there's really no going back once you start the series. There's always ups & downs and this one was as good as read as any of the others!

What are you reading?!

The Junos aka Canadian Grammys

I'll be honest - I never watch the Junos. I occasionally leave the opening skit on because it more often than not involves Russell Peters who is amazingly hilarious. But other than that, I really don't care. Most of the artists I haven't heard of because they play some indie music I would never listen to or they're so famous that I don't need to watch the Junos in order to see them.

Well I'm super glad that I left it on because Michael Buble was hosting & the intro bit was great. There may or may not be a small bit by the most gorgeous man on earth...you know who I mean!

But seriously, there are some really good Canadian artists out there that you should check out if you haven't already. There's more, but these are ones I enjoy listening to...

Carly Rae Jepsen (of course)

It's one of those "I need a weekend for my weekend" Mondays; or at least one day off. But this track is helping me get through until 5:30PM...#closeseyesandbopshead

It's OK Thursday - 04.18

Time to link up with Neely & Amber to let you know what's OK today!

It's OK...

...that I'm behind on editing & publishing my planned posts

...that the weather is crazy up & down; last Thursday we had snow; today we're supposed to get up to 25C (77F)

...that I missed dance last week because the weather made me want to stay at home (and I was tired)

...that I'm contemplating skipping dance tonight to pack and tidy up before my weekend away

...that I haven't been home since Christmas but going home this weekend! It's ok, the fam has come to visit me :)

...that our dinner with friends last night lasted four hours - it was such a great time!

...that Vik (my cousin) & I exchanged like 10 WhatsApp voice notes last night instead of actually texting - gotta get creative when it's long distance!

...that I'm impatiently waiting for all these awesome movies to come out that I keep seeing trailers for. I think Summer 2013 will be a hardcore movie one!

...that I'm excited to take my sister to the Casino this weekend - she's finally 19!

...that I have a [small] stack of bills sitting on my table & I'm worried that some of the due dates have passed.

What's OK with you?

Book Club Friday - 04.12

It's time for Book Club with Heather!

This week I'm reviewing:
{via}

Stephanie Plum's got rent to pay, people shooting at her, and psychos wanting her dead every day of the week (much to the dismay of her mother, her family, the men in her life, the guy who slices meat at the deli...oh, the list goes on). An ordinary person would cave under the pressure. But hey, she's from Jersey.

Stephanie Plum may not be the best bounty hunter in beautiful downtown Trenton, but she's pretty darn good at turning bad situations her way...and she always gets her man. In To the Nines, her cousin Vinnie (who's also her boss) has posted bail on Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant. When the elusive Mr. Singh goes missing, Stephanie is on the case. But what she uncovers is far more sinister than anyone imagines and leads to a group of killers who give new meaning to the word hunter.

In a race against time that takes her from the Jersey Turnpike to the Vegas Strip, Stephanie Plum is on the chase of her life.

Thoughts:
Maybe my least favourite book so far. Possibly because it seemed more far fetched than the others (yes, some are out there) or because I had it figured out from the beginning and had to read the whole book in order for the others to figure it out. I did enjoy the parts with 'Ranger & his Merry Men' who were pretty much all destroyed by Stephanie. No surprise there!
I still recommend the series but this one was less exciting for me personally.

It's OK Thursday - 04.11

Time to link up with Neely & Amber to let you know what's OK today!

It's OK...

 - that my sister turns 19 years old today & can legally drink in Canada! -

- that her birthday makes me feel extra old -

- that I wish I had accomplished more after work this past week -

- that I've been having a rough week at work; it happens, right? -

- ok, rough two weeks -

- that I had pizza and ice cream yesterday; I can't resist free food at work! -

- that I feel like time is passing me by like crazy...again -

- that we have a winter weather warning today...oh wait, so not effing ok! -

- that my room is a mess right now; that's when I actually know where everything is! -

- that I'm still thinking about how much money I spent on the weekend -

- that I've been planning a lot of changes but haven't started executing them.... -

Come on and hurry up weekend, I can feel you!

In the RED but loving it!

The other day I instagram-ed this:

Remember how I was excited about Target finally opening in Canada?

Well I'm still excited. But also worried about my next credit card statement.

I'll worry about that later though; here's some of what was in the bags...

Clockwise from top left:
New nailpolish for summer - bright blue & pink and new Volumizing mascara
New blowdryer! Hopefully this helps my hair...
High-Low skirt - pumped for summer!
Nude flats with gold studs
Black sandals with gold embellishments

I told you I've been loving gold!

I'm super pumped for all of these, partly because so many are for spring/summer things. If only winter would leave - we have a 'winter storm' warning for tomorrow. Ugh.

So...any other Target Canada addicts shoppers out there?!

Gold digger

The other day, I instagram-ed this:

I've always worn silver. I don't know why because my mom wears yellow gold exclusively. I think I just didn't like the 'yellow-ness' of it. Plus, I feel like silver is more neutral and easier to wear with most things.

Lately though I've felt like wearing gold more often. I have a few pairs of earrings I enjoy and some necklaces, which I never end up wearing. Why? Because my main accessories are my watch and Pandora bracelet - both silver.

Well, what's inside the bag changes all of that:

The Pandora bracelet is champagne-coloured leather, and despite having a silver clasp (the only option) looks far better with the light tan-coloured strap of the watch. I also chose a more rose gold coloured watch face over the yellow gold because it's a bit more subtle.

Now I'll be able to wear my gold pieces, tell time and show off my charms all at the same time.

Close ups:

I would probably wear a couple of my favourite charms on the bracelet but they are silver. You know what that means - I'm allowed to pick out some new ones ;)

I'm also known for my extreme buyer's remorse though so please someone make me feel good about my choice here!

More on my out-of-control weekend spending tomorrow!

On the 'Walkers' Bandwagon

It's official - we heart The Walking Dead.

I'm not really one for jumping on bandwagons, especially when it comes for TV shows, but I made an exception. I also avoid the HBO/Showtime/AMC shows because it's just so much harder to find/watch them  than the usual.

Enter Netflix, thanks to my cuz sharing her password ;)

The last three Sundays have been spent on the couch watching a ridiculous amount episodes of this amazing show. Ridiculous amount = we're four episodes short of being done the third (and so far last) season. Exactly.

I'm kind of a fan of the zombies & the surely impending zombie apocalypse. Plus, the character development on this show is amazing!

So pretty much, we look like this by the end of Sunday...

Any other fans out there?! Hit me up! :)

One Spoiled Birthday Boy

This was a weekend of epic birthday celebration proportions...and it wasn't even my birthday!

Thursday evening celebrations had all of dC's friends come out for an evening of fishbowls & schooners that culminated in the birthday boy getting his free birthday sundae...

Friday was a lazy recovery day with pre-Easter treats & too much time spent on a Vine video. That you can't see because dC doesn't share his social media. One day guys, one  day.
Friday evening we had birthday dinner with his fam & finished off with Olympus Has Fallen. Go. See. It.

Saturday we went to an indoor trampoline park. That's exactly what it sounds like. Trampolines, indoor, all over. No pictures because my stuff was put away in the locker, but you can see it for yourself here.

Trampoline fun was followed by a free tour & tasting of a local micro brewery. Amazing.

Then I needed to sober up with some froyo. I'm not even kidding you LOL

Saturday evening it was finally time for our birthday dinner date at PF Chang's. Awesome North American Chinese cuisine and their first location in Canada. Loved it. Obv we had mini desserts.

Dinner was followed by partying with an outfit I loved!
#ootn

Sunday was all relaxing, all day long. With a wild variety of TV shows. Who knew Sunday television could be so entertaining.

Yeah, dC was pretty spoiled this weekend  but he deserves it :)
